Only some of them are foot print compatible.(Myself I did not check) 1) First try to do optimize your design and try to fit in existing board & device. Make sure that after optimizing design also all IO connections should match with existing board hardware. 2) If it does not work , then you need to re-implement project with next higher end device and verify whether your design changes fitting in new FPGA or not. Like that you need to verify with different device parts till implementation successful. 3) After implementation complete then check for foot print compatibility of both the devices. If both are foot print compatible then no issues.
