If the file was created with Signal Studio N7615B, you must have the N7615B licenses (N7615B-1FP, N7615B-EFP, and possibly N7615B-QFP) on your ESG to playback the waveform, since files created with Signal Studio applications are encrypted.  The signal generator uses the following securewave directory paths for file extractions and encrypted file downloads:

Volatile                        /user/bbg1/securewave/file_name         or swfm:file_name
Non–volatile              /user/securewave                                           or snvwfm1:file_name

When you download an encrypted file, the securewave directory decrypts the file and unpackages the contents into its file header, I/Q data, and marker data. When you extract a file, the securewave directory packages the file header, I/Q data, and marker data and encrypts the waveform data file. When you extract the waveform file (I/Q data file), it includes the other two files, so there is no need to extract each one individually.  So, you will only need to load your waveform file “UL_10MHZ_12SYM_M” into the securewave directory.

NOTE: To extract files (other than user–created I/Q files) and to download encrypted files, you must use the securewave directory. If you attempt to extract previously downloaded encrypted files (including Signal Studio downloaded files or internally created signal generator files (ESG/PSG only)) without using the securewave directory, the signal generator generates an error and displays:             ERROR: 221, Access Denied.

The simplest method will be to ftp the file in through the signal generator’s server. 
Using the Signal Generator’s Internal Web Server
1. Enter the signal generator’s hostname or IP address in the URL of Internet Explorer.

2. Click the Signal Generator FTP Access button located on the left side of the window.
The signal generator files appear in the web browser’s window.
3. Drag and drop files between the PC and the browser’s window.  You will have to unzip your file.

After that, you can play the waveform in the ESG, and it will create 3 new files in the User directory: Waveform, Header, and Markers.
