  Hi Jonas,

I'm afraid the only way to create action is through the action definition editor. We do not have the API to create actions from codings.
However, if you are saying how to read or write the parameters from or into the action in a testplan, we do have the API to control this.

thanks for your reply. I already assumed that there is no direct API. We still have the hope for implementing an own file writer. Do you have any hints concerning the binary format or is it private? Is it worth to reverse engineer it or are there any checksums/signatures included?

If you advise not to try this, is there another way to implement something like an "action provider", e.g. an assembly that can be loaded in TestExec which provides a bunch of actions in the "Insert Action" window and which is invoked during test run?

As you see, we really need to provide actions programmatically since the manual effort increases more and more.

We have never tried using binary format to edit action and we would not advice user to do it as well. 
I do not think there is a way to implement the "action provider" as well. The reason was that producing the action is only done once and it can be repeatedly used. 

I do think you have a good point that when as much as 500 actions were to be implemented, it would be too much effort to do it manually. I would feedback this to R&D and this can consider this as 1 of our future enhancement. However, currently, it is really not possible.
