Is it true that if i am trying to use pins 1 and 2 for fault operation, that i have to program the fault conditions or without programming anything, i could go in a protect mode by shorting pins 3 and 4 for inhibit and trigger fault? Application: i am trying to run an external relay with an external 12V (similar to shown in fig. D-3 of the manual) and trying to use pins 1 and 2 as a switch. See the attached schematic. It would be great, If anyone with direct hands on experience can help. All this is in the programming manual but i wish they had made it little bit more direct. You are exactly right regarding the programming command. Basically, in order to put a condition on pins 1 and 2 (fault pins), and enable the registers, it was as easy as two lines command or one if we combine them. STAT:QUES:PTR 512 STAT:QUES:ENAB 512 There is *SRE 8 to enable service request but i don't think this is necessary for FLT. We ran into another problem after getting the pins 1 and 2 to work. Every time the event occurs, we have to read the event register by STAT:QUES:EVEN? command in order to clear it. Could we just clear the event (for example inhibit) form the front panel instead of sending a command and clear the register for next event? Pavit |
