Which license did you get with the kit? Is it activation based or certification based license?

We started delivering activation licenses from vivado2014.1. So the activation license can be used with vivado tools starting from vivado 2014.1. Find attached my current license file.
 
I had loaded up the evaluation copy of Vivado as I did not know when I would have my develompent board.
 
I installed vivado in my working area as the sys admin was busy.  Now that I have the board,  we have
downloaded a full version of Vivado.  (I had hoped we could avoid the large download again)  The admin installed it to include the trusted area on the machine.
 
What I want to do is to return the current license.  (Which I have not been able to figure out how to do)
Get a new license for my full product and see that I can generate a bit stream.
 
We have not been able to find out how to request a new license,  though I left my sys admin in the
middle of the download.  I will try and go through the process of requesting a new license with him
this morning.

Further on this topic.
 
I am looking over the docs and I find it very confusing.
 
In the info sheets provided by the kit it states I have  entitlement to  ISE Embedded Edition.  (PN: 0402916-02  info sheet)
On the web at :  http://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/DK-K7-CONN-G.htm   it states I have a
 Vivado Design Suite Design Edition.
 
So which is it?   Am I to load ISE  or Vivado?
 
Could this be why I can not get a vivado license other than evaluation?

I still have a problem ....
There is so much information to read that it seems I can not find the right statemetns.
 
Just to recap ...
 
I got a few evaluation licenses for various tools.  vivado being one of them.  I did this before I had purchased a development
board.  We are able to get some work done with this evaluation license, but it will end begining December.
 
I purchased a development board  KC-705 connectivity ....
 
I have installed a new vivado with the rest of our tools.  After the intall is complete we try to run  vlm.
 
We have set up things for the "trusted area"  license method.  This means I am getting an activation based license?
 
When I get to the product licensing page  "entitlenow..."  the activation based licensed are greyed out.  I am about to go
and read the  faq.  But from what I have found in the past week,  I will most likely NOT find what I need to fix what should be
a simple problem.
 
Yes,  I have spent a week going over your docs, and have not managed to get any further on this point.
It would be nice to be able to talk to a real person and get some simple questions answered as I ask them.
Or even better,  have someone that knows what is going on, ask me a few questions.   But not take a full 24 ours per
conversation direction ....

Yes, Trusted Storage is used for Activation based licensing.
 
It looks like your license is grayed-out, this condition occurs mainly in three cases.
 

• If user is not invoking license site via VLM.
  
• If user is using wrong utility, like accessing license site with node-locked license request  and user has floating based license, In this case node-locked license will be grayed-out.
  
• If trusted storage is not properly install.

Thank you for the replay.
 
I am not the system admin, and I have no idea what they did to install the Tools.  They claim they followed the instructions.
 
In the end,  vlm never enabled me to set up the license as activation based.
I just deleted my old license and reissued a new .lic file based node locked.
 
The license seems to be working now and I am happy to be finished with this task.
