  You cannot directly open any .dsn files from ADS 2009U1 or earlier versions of ADS in ADS 2011.01 or later. They would need to be converted from the old format to the new format. To do this step you would need the files to be part of a complete project (or archive of a project) or a Design Kit to be able to complete that conversion and open them in ADS 2011.

In the ADS 2011 main window the function File > Convert Project to Workspace performs this conversion. You can also use the function File > Unarchive Workspave or Project to extract an archived ADS 2009U1 project and it will perform the conversion during that process so that it can be opened in ADS 2011.
