There was no short when no cable is inserted. Tried the emergency recovery and it just made it worse. Same problem with the pins shorting with a cable plugged in. Was going to send the unit back but couldn't find my invoice. Anyway pulled off the connector and stuck the kapton tape to the underneath of the connector before soldering it back on. Problem solved. The supplied cable is a very tight fit. Using a few of my phone cables the fit is very loose and wiggling the cable drops the device from Windows. |
